1st day – mondovì art and shopping
10.00: arrival in Mondovì, the old Montis Regalis. Meet with the guide in the historic centre of the Piazza district with its porticos, the age-old stately buildings, the Cathedral and the Church della Missione. We will discover an artistic testimony of primary importance in Southern Piedmont. Mondovì is home to the prestigious Ceramics Museum, to remember an age-old local tradition.
At the end of the visit we will descend into the Breo district by cable car, which has come back into operation after years of closure and thanks to a project by the well-known designer Giugiaro. Following a short stroll in the Breo district, we will travel by bus to reach the restaurant selected; here, in an informal ambience, participants will have the opportunity to taste the excellent products of the area of the valleys of Mondovì.
In the afternoon we will move to Mondovicino Outlet Village, a paradise for shopping and bargains. 85 shops of top designer names, at prices reduced by up to 70% in a delightful environment, are an opportunity not to be missed. All participants will receive a shopping voucher worth 50.00 euro to use as they wish during the day.
To conclude our visit and depending on the time available, we suggest stopping off at the Vicoforte, known for the Sanctuary with the world’s largest elliptical dome (16th- 17th century). It will be the opportunity to visit and enjoy a tasting session at an artisan laboratory known for its excellent chocolate.... we bid a sweet farewell from Mondovì!
At the end of the visit, dinner and overnight in a 3-star hotel.
2nd day – langhe and turin, first capital of italy
Following breakfast, we will travel one of the most panoramic roads among the hills of Barolo, passing through La Morra until we reach the small village of Barolo, overlooked by its castle, which is home to the new and interesting Wine Museum. Wine tasting in the cellar.
During the second half of the morning we will stop off at Alba, the city known as the 100 towers and where it is always a delight to return for a short stroll in the lively historic centre. From the square of the medieval Cathedral, recently brought back to its original splendour, participants can enjoy a beautiful view onto the soaring red brick towers. We will continue along Contrada Maestra, historic axis of the city and today the point where the best shops are concentrated where you can find the gastronomic excellencies of the area which is known worldwide for its noble wines and white truffle (the National White Truffle Fair is held in the courtyard of the Maddalena).
Free time for lunch.
In the afternoon we move to Turin, first capital of Italy, and city which in recent years has known how to rediscover its impressive artistic and cultural heritage. We invite you to take a guided walk in the heart of this historic city, from its Roman origin to the capital city of the Savoy kingdom, with its elegant buildings, royal palaces and Baroque porticos. Return journey after the visit is complete.
